Winter 613 After Odo

Marjura

Clusta Noba

While the Animist Inquisition sets up a more permanent presence in Clusta Noba to treat our wounded, aid the refugees, and continue our research.(Raise Influence Success), the Order of the Wolf has begun construction of a coastal fortress, mostly out of stone and salvaged metals recovered from raiding parties into the ruins. With the raids comes access to discreet amounts of sulphur that is used to make powder for cruta. The Duke Kamesti had secretly shipped the other ingredients to the island last season to aid in it's defense. It is believed that the firepower of the cruta may be enough to stand off the forces arrayed against them, provided the islanders maintain supply lines to civilization (Mobilize).

Trinsmyra

Rung

As the days go on the beasts keep showing up at night but they are slowly but certainly growing more strange and territorial, they snarl when people approach to close and groups of 13 or are seen preforming some sort of ritualistic dance in rotating circle and chanting an unknown song (Mobilize). After the grisly display of Limer Späde's shredded corpse, the nature of his assailants begins to become clear. Lone wolven who have been expelled from their pack for various reasons, have been brought together and given a new purpose and direction by an outside force, instead of roaming the forests alone. Exactly who leads them and for what purpose is unknown, but most suggest the recent surge of Trakorian presence is definitely not a coincidence (Mobilize).

Milacke

Commodore Kaldor buys slaves from Hymbergond to staff several recently commandeered vessels (Mobilize).

Kark Fundibéra and her followers speak on the happenings in Rung. first of all these monsters are not of her doing. they are in fact her enemy. where as she is the proud kind follower of the moon goddess that also respects each other god. these beasts, known as the Manapor, are violent followers of the same god. that travels the world using there own magic finding places where their god is not worshiped and either finding her presence or attacking the town. when she herd about them on the island hoped to have had some members of the town between Kark and Rung, Milacke, join her and praise the goddess to prevent them from traveling here, but they would not listen and they sealed their own fate. now she asks for some more members of this town to join her and race to Rung to hopefully save at least some people (Mobilize). Meanwhile, nobles loyal to Goba da Grummi continue their tour of Trinsmyra, holding similar town meetings as was earlier held in Milacke, in an effort to further stabilise the region. Several new partnerships and patronages are forged between local enterprises and the wealthy Trakorians (Raise Influence Success). All this activity costs money, and traders are quick to profit. Although weakened by constant attacks by conservative traders, Duke Kamesti's long term investments in the province of Kark begin show profitability early especially amongst the traders of Tricuspa, swelling the New Sphere coffers measurably (Mobilize).

Palamux

Kargom

The Grand Syntald Edwyl Hussler is praised heavily for introducing a new means of shading in the form of glass being darkened to provide ample protection from the heat of the sun during the day. The city that benefited mostly from this was Na Yoh. It allowed them to create rest spots away from the Oasis and set up temporary markets for rare travelers through the city. It also created work for locals creating the glass and selling it in its darkened state for double the amount, which effectively doubled the commerce within when visiting merchants sampled this remarkable breakthrough and sought how to effectively sell this unique item. All made possible by the means of the Grand Syntald, and his team of architects, who, utilizing their illusions to show exactly how it was supposed to work, freely gave over this new way of life, and forever sealing their devotion to his cause., (Raise Influence Success). While this happens, Kargomites join the PurPur Kannibals making them a strong force to be reckoned with (Mobilize).

Fokale Plains

The Grand Syntald Edwyl Hussler is reputed to have brought in his illusionists to combine the mystical energies of the tattoos from the Kargomites and an intensely focused illusion captured by the self same tattoo for use and reuse as needed. A breakthrough followed when a young female illusionist created a miniature version of The Eniak, which combined with the glowing tattoo on her arm allowed her create the same illusion without using the necessary energies to do so again. All of it was made possible by the uncharacteristically good natured tattoo artist willingly helping her out for days on end with no complaints (Raise Influence Success).

Nastrôl

"You dropped your pocket," said the man pointing to the ground next to the fountain in the town square. The person turned around and saw what he was pointing at. Grunting in disgust he snorted, "You can't drop your pocket." The man feigning innocence, "What? Of course you can. Look closer. Can't you see?" The intended victim looks closer at the spot. He feels an explosion to the back of his head, dropping him like a stone. The murderer grabs his victims arms and drags him to the middle of the street. His real victim was approaching, he knew. He seen his target approaching through some buildings, and quickly tossed the club to the side. His phony antics carried out across the square. "Help me!" A man, the Prince of Folda, approached quickly, "What happened?" "It's me bruther sir! We got sep'rated fer naught but a mo, and now he got hisself mugged real good. Can ye wait 'ere until I gets the guards?" "Uh sure," He removes his cloak to help stop the bleeding headwound. "Ok curiosity compels me to ask; why shouldn't I go get help seeing as he," the man stops and peers intently at the downed man, "looks nothing like you." He whips around in alarm, ready to defend himself. He is able to set himself at the rushing murdered. He grabs the hand before it can thrust and twist forward, causing the man to somersault on the street. The knife goes flying sideways. Only to stop in midair and fly back at the man who is standing facing the murderer. He looks up at the last moment and sees the knife flying straight for his heart. Just then, Tindiriel and Raori of the Animist Inquisition rush forth. Tindri reaches out to the spirits of the plants around, and vines sprout up to catch the knife midair, while Raori tackles the attacker. A group of Condottiers supported them and quickly apprehended the attacker and his few accomplices. (Attack Shadow Actor Fails).

The threat to him eliminated, the Prince of Folda takes action. Supported by Geryon Grotteschi, he slowly goes through each and every part of reality, separating fact from fiction, reality from illusion the Nobles gain control over their old houses, instituting the rule of law and logic. The Prince will reinstates himself in his old family seat at Craiglind Castle. A caravan of carts to there to renovate the burned out buildings. As the Prince of folda assumes his ancient seat in Kraglinda, he makes the following announcement; "We would like to thank all who helped us regain our ancestral home, Duke Ialsop de Kamesti, Crystalocrat Manzola, Barú Eian Saulani and Geryon Grottechi da Quafacha. Having regained what is rightfully ours, we would also like to extend a hand to Grand Syntald Edwyl Hussler, bringing peace to the realm is more important than individual quarrels. Now We believe there is a possibility to bring peace and prosperity to a United Trakoria. We don't have the ambition to undertake the task alone, but are hoping for the rapid takeover by the strong families and institutions of Trakoria, bringing stability so commerce can grow. United, for Trakoria! Also this, As much as I appreciate the aid of the great Geryon Grotteschi da Quafacha, I must renounce his attempt at researching my ancestry and the call for me the Klavykian emperor now. It is not the time for internal struggle, and stability for all Trakoria is what we must strive for." Geryon is taken off guard by this and declares Folda a traitor to the neo-Klavykian cause, but can only simmer in anger, as Folda's bribed nobles ridicule him and quickly take possession of all important positions throughout the province (Raise Influence success).

In the new situation, there are opportunities everywhere, it seems, so recruiting more mercenaries becomes easy (Mobilize).

Moskoria

Two Syntalds at the University in Fontra Cilor have presented a thesis tracing the lineage of the Klavykian imperial lineage to great acclaim. They have gained new funders from Moskorian nobles and are able to hire some more assistants (Mobilize).

Lasemos-Bhannavil

A demon was seen off the coast of Lasemos this week. It was enormous; it’s curved horns blocking out part of the sun while its torso still rested in the deep waters of the ocean. It appeared in an instant, engulfing everything in dread and darkness. Shocked citizens watched the demon stretch out its arm, its infinitely long arm, and, from its position far out at sea, gingerly pick up and caress each piece of Gaddagormgald’s siege equipment. The demon did this slowly, and did not skimp over a single catapult, trebuchet, covered ram, or logistics wagon. When the demon was done, it vanished as suddenly as it had appeared. Most people discounted what they saw as a dream, an illusion, or an act by the warrior god Trocuspa. Mobilise

The Kishat

The faithful everywhere hurry to join the newly opened churches and join the ranks of the Kishati priesthood (Mobilize). Merchants supporting the Manticore cause buy new carriages and faster ships to speed up trade (Mobilize).

Myxa

A stark increase in trade has been noticed in the city of Navumbra, resulting from a sharp decrease in the prices of fish, opals, and islands off the coast of Myxa. Wealth comes flooding through Myxa, not a small amount of which finds itself in the coffers of the Infiltrators (Mobilize).

A bidding war was finally settled in Soblak this month where it was decided which ship building yard would receive the illustrious contract to build up the Galdian Navy. Construction of the first large battleship went off without a hitch, resulting in a wooden behemoth triple the size of any ship than had henceforth been known to Soblak’s ports. Many called it ridiculous and unwieldly, but when the two-hundredth cannon was brought aboard the ship, and the ship did not sink, there was no mistaking it. A dreadnought class warship had been born (Mobilize).

A great observatory is built, engaging the drug addicted power holders in the study of astronomy. All across the province, rich and important people flock to this place to marvel at it (Raise Influence success).

Tricilve

A secret trade war ensues. Popular potion makers cut deals to sell their wares in favoured stores and other merchants find themselves cut out the deals. There's a vicious propaganda campaign to decry the downsides of the potent brews, but it's not enough to make up for the devastating loss in sales. Stores begin to close up shop, certain merchants leave for what they hope are greener pastures, and the potion makers do a brisk business (Attack Resource Fail).

Malusa

The theatre opens! PurPurian worshippers criss cross the city, spreading word of the coming spectacles. The first performance, which is completely sold out, is a new retelling of the First Conflux, complete with set-destroying special effects. It plays once. The second performance tells the story of the Second Conflux and, once more, plays only once with another set utterly destroyed. By the third performance, the Malusan citizens have caught on, and tickets are being resold on the black market for exorbitant costs. By the fourth, men and women have been robbed. And, for the fifth ("What could they possibly do for the fifth?" the citizens whisper. "There hasn't been a Fifth Conflux!"), there are knifed and poisoned bodies. In the theatre that night, a terrifying story is told, growing from the rumours of undead armies in Marjura into an unstoppable wave of destruction. At the end of the performance, smoke still rising from the pyre of smoking (fake?) bodies, the house dramaturge makes an announcement. "Spread the word that the Theatre Oracular beseeches all oracles and seers to bring us their prophecies. Here, before the masses, we will bring the future to life!". Word quickly spreads across the province about these remarkable spectacles (Raise Influence Success).

gather blackmail material, throw some coins around, find out who's loyal to who in the area (Raise Influence success). However, new events quickly make people forget the actors. Duke Iaslop returns to his seat with somewhat of a heroes welcome, but it's clear to even the most jaded courtier that the year in the squalid conditions of Clusta Noba had changed the man. Certainly he retains the wit, charm and vision that founded the Order of the New Sphere but now, under the fine clothing and perfumes is a hardness that didn't exist before his time the ruins of Marjura or at least was far better hidden. The Duke holds Court from his Duchal throne for the first time in years, and systematically addresses the problems presented to him one by one, after more than three weeks of constant daily Courts, supported by Kaldorian trade ships that bring a never ending supply of wares, the Duke relinquishes his chair to his Seneschal and surveyed a thriving province now (more) firmly under his control (Raise Influence Success). Meanwhile, the shadows, agents working for the new Duke of Hiltre

New Mark

The duellants have now become something of a fixture among the people, and some of them are enjoying enough fame to get invited into the finest halls (Raise Influence Success). Even so, Empress Heneguya's mad grab for power swept away many of the old structures of stability across Trakoria, and since her demise, many regions are left in a state of limbo. New Mark has rapidly degraded in the power vaccuum, filling up with smugglers and brigands, roving bands of "duellists" - little more than armed thugs - terrorize the peasants over petty matters of pride. A sudden influx of shady characters asking odd questions seems at first to just be more of the same. Until the bodies showed up. One morning, two dozen notorious thugs or ringleaders are found nailed to a neat row of posts along the most trafficked road, several of them still alive but displaying clear signs of torture. One particular sign is shared among all of them - both their index fingers have been severed, and inserted into their now empty eye sockets. The dreaded signature of Digeta Longa. In the following days, most of the lesser criminals and hucksters seem to have vanished - having either fled, gone underground, or suffered a grislier fate - and a strange hush hangs over the region. Until the locals start gathering together. They whisper to each other: "isn't the Digeta Longa in the pockests of Duke Ialsop?" They keep their eyes open and notice how the shady characters disappear into the merchant houses of Enji. "Isn't Enji working for Prince Folda? He's a traitor!". The silent resistance starts, because the people of New Mark are still loyal to Emperor's family (Raise Influence Fail).

Bretalva

Mistress Oliphantine Bray continues to build her slave trade. The recent purge of heretics in the Kishat provides a fresh supply (Mobilize).

Karramak

Among the more prominent of the New Sphere Nobility, the newly minted Duchess attempts to purge the more conservative elements from among her Courtiers, unfortunately for her, Trimbolt's contacts are more resilient than experience expected (Attack Resource Fail).

Korjulme

Gaddagormgald personally leads his armies in a march through the lands outside the city of Guidena. A small skirmish took place between his armies and those of the city, which resulted in the deaths of twenty Guidenians. (Raise Influence Success). The people of Gudiena watched this while having lunch and were quite impressed by the mercenary. Meanwhile, the Merchant Navy is building new ships in Korjulme, adding to its strength (Mobilize).
