Paraltro
I wanted to travel to Trinsmyra from Siola. Paraltro's rolling foothills are criss crossed by halfling holes. The villages are so well hidden that a fellow can strike camp along in the evening and wake up surrounded by breakfast fires.
As I was headed north, I did not get the opportunity to see Fam Kvalvi, though the city deserves mention. It is the seat of the Pillar Father and the church of Kastyke. It sits atop the red cliffs north of the Kruzander Bay to impress approaching foreigners. At the time of its founding, a colossal statue of the goddess was raised. However, the bronze workers had cheated during construction and made the plating so thin that the statue collapsed and tumbled into the sea.
The Paratorni promptly threw the incompetent craftspeople after the statue and hired new professionals from Palamux. These quickly determined that the work would be impossible - the cliff would crumble under the weight of so much bronze. The weight had to be distributed better.
The problem was solved when the Pillar Father had a vision saying that Kastyke actually had six legs and not at all two as people had believed. To maintain the proportions, the statue was also given six arms, which provided more solid support for the brazier .
Even so, the city has never been a particularly important centre for anything else, though the Bodâk maintains some official buildings there, as well as a Ezgale temple, the emperors flying castle and the only zepelond navy.
Siola is much more busy. This is the city of wool spinners as well as a major port of the Trakorian navy, a trading post for the northern regions, and the home of the imperial arsenal which produces the majority of all war machines the army needs. Allegedly, the forests around the town were once the home of elves, but the industrial activities, and the army, has driven them away.
