The Chronolab
The main attraction of Tricilve is without a doubt the Chronolab. This massive bronze piece was designed by Master Gaoski from Klomellia. The construction took 10 years and drew upon the craftsmanship of several master dwarf crafters. Officially, the piece is set to measure time so that Tricilvan astromancers should be able to track the paths of stars. However, its opening was a scandal in itself, which has made it an even more curious mechanical wonder. The magillrean ambassador to Tricilve, described the disaster of 604 A.O thusly:
"Remarkable is the measuring of time of the Chronolab. On the beast's top is a effigy of the Earth mother, from whose breasts water pour every minutes. Every 15 minutes, steam hiss from her ears as a symbol of the ocean's mists. At the change of the watch, two wooden knights exchange blows, and many other strange mechanical functions do things that are not easily understood.
At the grand opening, the Pillar Father climbed up to the podium. He was to declare the thing opened and ropes would be burned off at precisely the moment of noon. The glow started just a moment before, but the giant pendulum swung away and stopped, and then turned back and hit the Pillar Father over the head so hard that his blood splattered over it. That scared the populace who ran as chickens from the town square".
