Spring 612 After Odo

Marjura

Clusta Noba

Clearly frustrated that his return to Trakoria was thwarted by ill weather, and nearly stir-crazy in residence at Clusta Noba the Duke orchestrates a daring diversionary raid against the undead horde at Majura itself as a diversion to draw the horde away from the narrows between Majrura and Clusta Noba. The success of the raid was muted, but the first actual counter-attack against the Undead Horde was a great boon to the morale of the refugee and religious celebrants and bolstered the personal influence of the Duke over the island refuge. As a small blessing however, the raid on Majura managage to liberate both additional food reserves from the ruins of Arhem, but also managed to liberate some rare luxuries including casks of decent wine, and others that make life in the island refuge just a little bit more tolerable for the refugees and, for him, the Duke himself (Raise Influence Success).EndFragment

Trinsmyra

Rung

With the death of the Empress escalating the unrest in Trinsmyra to new heights, several noble families, who by now have firmly established themselves as opposition to Her Majesty's reign of terror, aligned with the increasingly popular Duke Kamesti and the New Sphere, make landfall in Rung with their entourage and plentiful resources. Due to the earlier arrangements between Digeta Longa and the Eelskulls, they are welcomed with greater warmth than many outsiders would have expected. After a surprising short period of negotiations, overseen by Goba da Grummi, backed by Kamesti's savvy diplomats, an alliance is made between the Runglians and the nobles formerly out of Tricilve, where one offers manpower paid by the resources of the other in exchange for mutual protection and prosperity. Before anyone has a chance to make any moves to counter it, the deal is made, and their power firmly solidified in Rung. A province that was impossible to take through military force of arms has thus become a stalwart ally of the Digeta Longa (Raise Influence success). EndFragment

Milacke

Beaten by the Trakorian army during the winter, the rebellious peasants take to the foothills and Hymbergond mountains. There, they raid Trakorian caravans and estates, harass mines and release slaves who promptly join their numbers (Mobilize).

Kark Seizing upon the utter chaos of the abortive rebellion, Commodore Kaldor and his pirates thrive. With the support of Digeta Longa informers and Kamesti gold, they arm themselves. Within weeks the control of Procurator Munster Huga is utterly destroyed and the occupation garrison is overrun by privateers dressed as unruly rebels. The Procurator is eventually caught, captured and executed. The three armies of occupation are functionally leaderless with and Digeta Longa informers spread misinformation that keep them incapacited by the threat of mutiny against incompetent officers, which ultimately result in command devolving to those whose allegiances are to Kaldor and his pirates. The tight control of Vumbra is little more than a distant memory by the end of Spring. In the Chaos, Commodore Kaldor emerges as the only person of military competence left in the city, and around him some measure of stability and order exists, resulting in many of the rebels turning to him to act as magistrate and keeper of the peace in the aftermath. Rule over Kark is largely libertarian, but criminal offences against persons and property are dealt with with naval efficiency sand decorum. With Kaldor in charge, the spike in crime plummets as punishment is swift, certain and severe (Raise Influence Success).

Manzonla himself leads his mercernaries into the depths of Kargom, where they meet with several local chiefs and at least are able to establish a non-aggression-pact of sorts, under the rationale that my enemy's enemy is not my enemy, allowing Kishati people safe passage in the region, for now (Raise Influence success).

Meanwhile, Enjis fabulous enterprice is groing through the aquisition of the most amazing blue pigment that the Kargomites used to use for tatoos before PurPur! In Korjulme the Kannibals are learning about the essence of PurPur, increasing their magic abilities as symbolists! (Mobilize)

Fokale Plains

Powerful spring storms move across the Fokale plains toward Na Yoh, keeping the sun off Kargom Wall, and chasing away the heat. Rain water bolsters the oases around the territory. Pazuzu eventually ends up over Yoh Nuir, claiming it as place to roost for the time being. The bribed nobles of the Prince of Folda claims that the only way to pacify the storms is to start workshiping them, but the locals reject the entity as anathema to the desert. They see it as a demonic invader (Raise Influence Fail) .

And just as they begin to despair, Edwyl Hussler appears, and a powerful magical duel takes place: "At last, you reveal yourself. And here of all places. One would take you for a meddler of minds out there in my plane of existence. But no, I find you here. It would explain why it took so long to find you. I feared never would. Now, the mighty demon shows himself here in Aamyn. Yes mighty. The mighty demon that scares children with its whispers in the night. A mighty demon able to put on a lightshow with rain and lightning." A lighting bolt slams into Hussler, throwing him against the wall. A mighty wind flows forth against him pinning him in place. The demon then opens his hand using the winds to propel steel rods forth impaling his intended victim. The demon watches sneering in satisfaction as the body of Hussler sinks to the ground head lolling to the side. Then watches in amazement as the head snaps up, "That wasn't nice." Pazuzu watches, stunned, as Hussler stands steady on his feet, and pulls both rods out of his body with a grunt.. "Amazed I still stand? I'll bet you are. You're limited to what you know. What you see. As your limits are obvious, so to, you believe, are mine. There is your error. You like magic of the elements? Have a taste." Both rods raise up from Hussler's hand one after the other, the rods fly true, impaling the demon against the wall. A growl of pain escapes his lips. Hussler himself raises of the floor moving towards the impaled demon, "I have no limitations. What I am made to see as believable, I know is a lie. What happens now is a result of your limited understanding." Hussler's forefinger pushes up against the demons chest. Meeting resistance as Hussler pushed through it. Slowly, it goes deeper and punctures the demons heart. He then uses his other hand to pull the demon from the rods, letting him land on his back. "Your understanding, Pazuzu, is that a mere man bested you in combat, using your own magic with a strength beyond your understanding. The truth is so much more simple." Hussler bends close to the dying demon, voice lowering to a whisper, " You should have stayed in the shadows. When you meddle in my affairs, I didn't like it when you pissed in my cereal..." The Grand Syntald Edwyl Hussler walks back through the gateway, dragging the dead body behind him. He closed the gateway and dragged the body to a nearby wall, leaving him sitting against it. Soon enough, a passerby comes upon the body, and noticed the propped up beast with a knife sticking out of his chest. He shrugs and keeps walking. Stranger things have happened. (Attack Shadow Actor Success).

Nastrôl

In order to do the illusions that was performed on the Frimboline Plains, the group of volunteers required a rudimentary knowledge of how illusions were created. The substantial group set to work diligently, determined never to be unprepared for a beast like that again. The faculty at HOXOH, did their best to teach and mentor the newest additions. Each of the group came face to face with a RaHa (in a controlled environment of course), and were forced to study every inch of the beast, all the while noting strengths and weaknesses. Slowly, their knowledge and skills increased (Mobilize).

Moskoria

Nobles outside Fontra Cilor are astounded as they look out and see many would-be aggressors (thieves, cutthroats, mercenaries and raiders) working the lands creating what seems like an irrigation system to desalinate the soil. Days turn into weeks, and yet more join the cause, no complaints forthcoming, no demands of payment, save the silent stoicism of completing the deed. Some collapse in silent exhaustion, but there seems to be no shortage of workers willing to help. The nobles look on in praise as The Grand Syntald is seen to have kept his word (Mobilize).

Lasemos-Bhannavil

Hired by the Council of the Nameless in Bhannavil, Gaddagormgald’s siege troops set up and begin to assault the defenses of the town of Kharasma. By the end of the month, the defenses of the “Strongly fortified town” are reduced to rubble. The siege troops received a hefty payment for their work, with which they improved and restocked their armaments (Mobilize). The consequences of the siege become more wide ranging than expected, as people across Lasemos take up arms and old and new feuds flare up based on nothing but hearsay and innuendo. Chaos threatens to tear the two cities apart as increased acts of aggression between the younger, more rash of each faction are whipped into a frenzy. Political leaders from both reduce it to am uneasy peace when rumors of yet another demon is said to enter into their midst. The ever watchful, mistrusting leaders come together to learn of this potential beast. The palpable tenseness between the two almost start yet another riot as each are looking at the other to start it. And through it all, the leaders of both cities are being informed of a great and destructive evil to deal with, whose sole purpose was to divide and conquer (Mobilize).

The Kishat

The winds around Maghurbal help the merchants who revere them, and seem to spite those who don't. At sea, the reverent sail with ease while the irreverent row. On land, the winds whisper to traders, telling them of what their competitors are up to (Mobilize). Wind in their hair, the Ransardian raiders celebrate the equinox and pray that they will soon be able to reclaim their lands on Saphyna. The sacrifice is a monumental one, and they feel strengthened in their faith as Mirandas join their ranks and bless them (Mobilize).

Myxa

Allying with the Purpuran Worshippers who supply them with the vestments of their order, the Infiltrators incorporate themselves into the various noble houses of Myxa. Advisors and Head Chefs, Captains of the Guard and Guild Lobbyists. With help from a variety of religious and economic contacts, the Infiltrators secure these positions of power and respect within every noble household in Myxa (Raise Influence Success).

Ziddisbar

Silver tongued Apostles in Brosma evangelize to the Barbosks, winning the energetic people to the cause. They compare the rebellious people to eb and flow of ocean storms (Mobilize).EndFragment

Each morning since the arrival of Gaddagormgald to Ziddisbar, men and women in dark military regalia have been spotted entering the taverns and restaurants of the port towns of Soblak and Branyla. They would sit themselves among the commoners, looking like demons. They had black corneas, pale skin, and wet, red tattoos streaming from their eyes like water. They would talk to the people; telling them tales of warfare and greatness, of horror and greed. Then, with a bloody smile, they would offer employment and purpose to those who signed their contracts. Though those who accepted were largely beggars, drunk sell swords, and the unemployed, the recruiters would take them all. The new recruits would be accompanied away from the premises by the recruiters. Those who returned bore the same markings as their recruiters, and their moods had significantly changed (Mobilize).

Ruhl

With the sudden, presumed demise of the Empress, the nobles in Ruhl fall to infighting. There are a surprising number of "accidental" deaths, and many become mysteriously ill, with only the wisdom of the DiFolt potion makers staving off death itself. The people rally behind the selflessness of the healers, and the recovering nobles realize how precarious life can truly be (Raise Influence Success).

Paraltro

The nobles continue to fund medical care and drug cafes, which surge in popularity after the very trying times of the past few months. Certain Throne Loyalists, thrown into confusion and disarray, make an unpopular attempt to close down the facilities, and find themselves under effectively house arrest as the peasantry let their displeasure be known through jeers and rotten food thrown through the air (Mobilize).

Tricilve

The conservatve noble faction, supported by the funding and interest group pressure from Trimelda's merchants turn their attention against the Innocentians. These heretics are in league with the people who killed the queen. They must be arrested and prosecuted and found guilty. Or found dead from drowning after a horrible accident in jail (Attack Resource Success).

Hiltre & Hoeja

The men-at-arms spend some much needed off time for training and recruitment. They equip themselves with new and improved gear (Mobilize).

Malusa

Shocked and horrified at the unintended, lethal consequences of their latest experiment, the infamous acting troupe decides to stage a series of more traditional plays by way of atonement. To no one's surprise, they are wildly popular, as patrons wonder if perhaps this will be the performance when something unpredictable will occur. And, certainly, the falling chandelier and rumours of a cackling theatre ghost help to keep the delicious tension alive (Mobilize). Meanwhile, Kaldor's pirates recruit anyone they can find. As there are plenty of now leaderless former Whig Makers, they have no trouble finding candidates (Mobilize).

New Mark

Inspired by the recent fashion of going berserk on the battlefield, Captain Pfurdian Sopp of the Knights of Bralorge orders his men to make their way down the coast and strike camp in the countryside outside Tricilve. Here, the knights are said to start honing their raging skills by chewing on the edges of their shields and charging at forcibly inducted peasants. The most impressive specimens among them are, if they survive, taken as squires (Mobilize).

Bralorge

StartFragment“Death to the false duke!” So goes the cry of multitudes of Privavian citizens (at least a dozen, or so, by all accounts - well paid in glistening fried sausages made out of the finest badger snouts), as the imposter who has been appearing as Grigor Trimelda the last few months is being paraded around town, tied upside down to a donkey’s rear, while the audience pelts him with rotten cabbage. After having the doppelganger spitted and roasted alive in the town square, the real duke (instantly recognizable as the more handsome of the two) addresses the crowd: “This is a time of fools and preening cocks,” His Grace is said to have exclaimed, “but charlatans can and should be stabbed and even impaled upon their own lies, as to painfully penetrate all their tricks and wiles, and thus We are founding a new school of duellants, to do just that - to drill hard into the very core of Paratorna until it moans with truth!” (Mobilize).EndFragment

Bretalva

EndFragmentBy word of the confusingly returned but still inimitable duke Trimelda, his dazzling court arrives on languidly cruising pleasure barges from the staunch but oh so frigid north, to put some color back into the drudgery of the teeming masses. Grumm is lit by bright little lanterns in all the hues of the rainbow, as a new holiday is declared: Rising Day! Through ointments, pinches and other hands-on approaches the least ugly slaves, supplied by Gomba's smugglers, are roused in both this way and that, let out of their pens in tightly leashed packs with ducal courtiers at the reins, and allowed to enter various local residences with varying degrees of force in order to perform a “ceremony of life” with them, in their own chambers. Flush and invigorated from these exercises, slaves are now expected to bring in double their price at market (Raise influence Success),

The people of the region see an unprecedented influx of academics. First, the Grand Syntald Edwyl Hussler sends a group of students from HOXOH, asking them to increase knowledge and combat techniques against the RaHa plaguing the area. More and more become aware of how to deal with the creature and spread that knowledge to outlying regions (Mobilize). Then, the syntalds from the Chronolab crew build an observatory, and the new school for training the crew sees an immediate influx of young nobles and burgers sent by aspiring parents in powerful positions (Raise Influence Success).
