Lasemos
Many people live with the mistaken belief that Lasemos is a unitary vassal under Trakorian rule. This is not true. Instead, it's a series of principalities ruled by a noble families which, through inter-marriage, are all related to each other. Even so, or perhaps because of this, they constantly fight each other.
Maravelda, the "capital", was in a terrible state when we arrived. Syntald Deamon Psuggus argues that the cradle of the Trakorian Empire can be found here, although Tasenbar Herbmaster contests his theory which states that Klavykian tribes of the old Laabian culture would have populated Ziddisbar, the then-green Moskoria and Fokali plains. From there, they would have sailed East, to Stegos, Paratorna and Trinsmyra. None of this proud heritage is visible now, however. The only light in the destitution was the academy, and while the learned where dressed as poorly as the rest of the people, their knowledge was second to none. I even got the chance to see the wrinkled apparition of the great Shukallituda.
There is little to say about the province otherwise. The farmers cleave to the old ways, even though they are much less effective than the practices used by farmers in Paratorna or Saphyna. Apparently, they would rather risk starvation that try using such modernities as windmills or the earth turning plow. When questioned about it, they muttered that if Shamash would have wanted us to turn the earth, he would have created it so to begin with.
The nobility prides itself on its knights, though I fail to see why, as they mostly behaved like very well armoured rogues. Baldyr took to hiding our silver in his unclean orifice, which at least allowed us to get through their patrols without losing everything of value we had.
