Bhannavil

The god of warriors, Trocuspa, is revered on the Bhannavil. The name of the port town of S'rid be Ghile means "the city on the purple sand" on the laabnian tongue, and hosts the oldest temple area to the god in all the islands. Here, the original Banzikan is taught.

The goal of the Banzika devotees is not to wave around weapons prettily, but to find the absolute state of mind. Legends speak of Baskimer Buzzcock who was taken prisoner during the campaign against the grey lords of Laabne. They took him out of the walls of Voag Aspede for a public execution, but when the axe had bounced three times against his bull neck, he asked to be allowed to sharpen the blade himself. Then he laid down on his back to help the headsman aim. However, when the blade fell, he quickly got out of the way, and the blade was now so sharp that it cleft open the entire wall, thus allowing the army outside to rush in and take the city without a fight. That type of presence of mind is only attainable through the Banzikan.

A stranger does well to watch their tongue in the city. Many students dream about a chance to do "the golden cut". Do make it, the master needs to cleave an opponent with a single strike, so that the smaller piece relates to the larger piece as the larger piece relates to the entire body. They say that the knight Arn Dimbrink da Kharasme can draw his sword, do the golden cut and sheath the blade so fast that the opponent doesn't note anything before he tries to walk and falls apart. A learned man as me does not believe such tall tales, though the man is gone and so the tales cannot be disproven.

I witnesses three very good tourneys but when I almost lost my head by an indiscreet remark playing smickleboard, I found it was time to cross the waters to Lasemos.
