Gaaz Ulul

The city of Gaaz Ulul has been built straight against the mountainside, with so steep alleys that nobody uses carts inside the city walls. Instead, the city uses porters and domesticated mountain goats, which give the city its particular smell.

The city is the primary trading place for goods delivered by Krindenmaar and the native wood peoples from the Abroluner forrest. It is also a mining town.

Its geographic position in the mountain pass means that it controls traffic between northern and southern Saphyna on the West side. As such, it is the base for a significant Trakorian army presence, including a strong cavalry contingent which is used as a rapid deployment force to counter Ransardian raiders and raugon attacks. This force even has a few hippogriphs at its disposal. Their sabres make a very particular whining sound that is nasty to blackbloods and animals.

Baldyr and me did not stay in this city, as red soot was ravaging it. Instead, we proceeded to Krindenmaar.
